ThaiThuk is an independent English-language magazine about Thailand, published on thaithuk.com by Genext Information Systems ("we", "us", "ThaiThuk"). We take a minimalist approach to data: we collect as little as possible, and we don't sell it.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a little that stays on your own device:
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address for the sole purpose of sending the newsletter. Unsubscribe any time via the link in every email.
- Contact form: the name, email and message you send are used only to reply to you and handle your request.
- On-device storage: your theme choice (light/dark), your cookie preferences, quiz progress and any community-forum posts are saved in your own browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
Advertising & cookies
With your consent, ThaiThuk displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies — including the DoubleClick/DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google and its partners may collect and use data as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you are in the EEA or UK, Google's certified consent tool asks for your choice about ad personalisation before personalised ads are shown. You can also opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings — see our Cookie Policy, and reopen your choices any time via .
Third-party services
We load web fonts from Google Fonts and styling from a Tailwind CDN, and we link out to official Thai sources and to our sister tool sites (ThaiVisaFinder, ThaiHolidayBudget, ThaiLetters, ThaiLotteryNumbers and ThaiTripPlanner). These providers and sites have their own privacy policies. We don't share your personal data with them, because for the most part we don't hold any.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal data, we don't require an account to read the site, and we don't track you beyond the newsletter, contact form and consented advertising described above.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you — typically just a newsletter email — via our Contact page (choose Privacy request). You can also clear on-device storage at any time through your browser settings or our Cookie Settings. We honour applicable rights under Thailand's PDPA, the EU/UK GDPR and similar laws.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Questions? Reach us via our Contact page.
